Mobile Acoustic Range (MAR)


Based on their radiated noise, submarines and surface vessels can be detected by passive sonar systems. The Mobile Acoustic Range (MAR) accurately measures this radiated noise; thus enabling navies and shipyards to monitor and control the radiated noise and silence their ships and submarines.

By continuously tracking the measured vessel and transmitting the data to a measurement ship, the MAR system enables real time radiated noise processing, analysis and display. The system also includes a platform database for measurement results management and provides playback and post analysis capability.

The MAR’s flexibility enables rapid deployment and saves the maintenance costs involved in operating a fixed acoustic range. The MAR is a cost-effective solution for measuring the radiated noise of any naval platform. The system has already been  acquired by leading navies and shipyards around the world.
